Bishop Bird List

There are over 75 species of birds that commonly occur throughout the year at Bishop Wild Bird Sanctuary. Common year-round residents include: Bald Eagles, California Quails, Mourning Doves, Ring-necked pheasants, Red-breated Nuthatches, Song Sparrows, and Steller's Jays, amongst others. On occasion we have rare birds visit such as the Pacific-slope Flycatchers, which nested atop the boathouse a few years back.

The BWBS Provisional Checklist of birds includes 174 species in all.

Please enjoy our photography gallery of birds that call the Sanctuary home or have stopped by for a visit. Remember to send us your favourite photos from your next visit to BWBS!
